The Talent Show took place on 21st January and was a chance for children to show
the audience what they enjoy doing.
They practised a song, dance or music piece at home, during this exciting night. Many haven't performed to an audience before.
Jonny who compared the show said, "It was fantastic to see so many children confidently
playing instruments, dancing or singing. There were comedians who had us in
stitches and dancers who had choreographed their own routines. The singers had
beautiful voices too. Well done to the talented Nightingale kids!"
To top it off, the event raised £156

Summer Fete and more...
Nightingale’s Annual Summer Fete
This yearthe summer fete will be held on Saturday 3rd July. Following on from last year’s successful fun day and feedback, we are hoping to have even more things to do and even more stalls. However, in order to do this,we need lots of volunteers. So, please, just an hour of your time will be a huge help.
Funds raised this year will go towards a large shaded area for the childrenand also towards refurbishing the Science Garden.
You can help us by:
- volunteering your time (before, during or after the fete)
- donating plants for the plant stall
- having an advertising board outside your house
- volunteering to face paint on the day
- having your own stall (non-food) at the fete (will be a charge)
- having your business card in the Summer Fete programme (will be a charge)
- advertising the Summer Fete by asking your children to colour in and then put the Summer Fete poster in your window (a copy is attached to the newsletter)
Details of the above will be in the PTA newsletter which your child will be bringing home either on 26th or 27th May 2010 (or contact the PTA via the mailbox outside the School Office).

Update
Thank you for baking/bringing in your cakes and treats for the cake sale. We
received plenty of goodies to sell and raised over £100.
Our AGM took place on the 11th March and we covered the events we organised last year as well as how we have spent some of the money raised. The main items of expenditure made by the PTA last year were for:
- Nintendo DSi and Games
- Infant playground markings
- School planners
- Football kits
The PTA still has some money in the bank and will hopefully raise lots more in the coming
year to spend on the children and the school.
We have managed to keep all of the outgoing Committee and have added a few new PTA members too. The PTA members list will be updated to reflect the changes.
Keep supporting us, we can't do this without you!!

PTA new news!
A big thank you to the children that performed at the Talent Show, everyone that came along to support them and to all those that helped to make the evening so enjoyable.
We have a few events coming up in March.
The first one will be a Mother’s Day Cake Sale. This will take place after school on Wednesday 9th March. The PTA will also be selling £5 gift vouchers that can be redeemed at the Ladies Pamper Evening during this event. A reminder will be sent out with the children so don’t forget to bring your cakes to school on the day.
The PTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 11th March from 9.15am to 10.15am. We will be going over last year’s events and accounts and there will be an opportunity for parents to find out what we do and to join if you want to. This is open to all (parents with young children/babies can bring them along too).
A Ladies Pamper Evening has been organised for Friday 19th March. Keep an eye on the PTA Notice boards around the school for more details.
